Hey, y’all. Welcome back to the Virtual Assistant Mama podcast in today’s episode, I’m going to share with you the three part formula that you can use to help you become a successful virtual assistant. So let’s just go ahead and dive right in. The first part of this formula is to pick a profitable service. that helps businesses grow. The last part of that statement, that helps businesses grow, that’s the key. Because there are a lot of services out there that, yeah, it takes things off of the business owner’s plate, and that’s great, it saves them time and energy. That’s fantastic. But a business is a lot more likely to outsource tasks that are actually going to actively help them reach more customers, reach more clients, get more sales. And all of that. So you want to pick a service that is actually going to help businesses grow.
A lot of new virtual assistants, they step into administrative services at the beginning because that’s what they’re comfortable with. But are admin services really going to help your clients reach more people? Like, yeah, you can help with customer service and answer questions for people, but it’s not really actively helping them to expand and grow their business. So, yes, they may outsource it, but they’re a lot less likely to pay well for that type of service. You want to pick something where it’s, You’re expanding their reach, maybe like social media management or podcast management where you’re helping them, like build that trust and become more of an established authority in their space. That’s when a business is much more likely to invest, hire, and pay you what you actually need to be able to stay home and work only like 20 hours a week and make that money significant income. It’s when you’re offering services that actually help businesses grow. Okay. All right. The second part of the formula to becoming a successful virtual assistant is to make sure that you’re connecting with your ideal client or your dream client in all of your marketing. So this means that your brand colors, the language that you use, your portfolio, any social media posts.
They should really be geared towards whoever your dream client is. If your dream client is like big, you know, more corporate type businesses, your branding colors probably shouldn’t be like, you know, pinks and whatnot, and like, you know, muted pastels and whatnot, because that’s, that’s not going to connect with those those bigger businesses as much. If your dream client is a Business who has one owner and that owner is a mom, that would probably work, okay? And when you’re creating social media posts, if you’re creating things about working from home with your kids while you’re working on client projects, a mom owned business would understand that. A corporate business might see your kids in the background as like, that’s gonna be an interruption taking you away from the work that you need to do for them.
So you need, you need to be conscious of And all of the things that you do to reach potential clients, that you are connecting with the right type of business that you want to work with. Alright, the third part of this formula to becoming a successful virtual assistant is your client experience. Your clients that you have are more likely to refer you to their friends and other business owners if they are really truly so happy with what you offer. And one thing that I always recommend is, you know, don’t promise the world and then struggle to provide it. Promise the basics and then give them like 10 percent more. Okay. You don’t want to give them too much more because then that’s just scope creep and they should be charging you more But if you provide a couple extra little things that they weren’t expecting they will just be in awe Of what you provided for them and they will go and shout your name from the rooftops I’ve done this with my website design clients and You know, it’s easy to like say. Yeah, I can do everything you want And then you’re struggling to get it all done in the time frame. But if you say, okay, like, I know I can do this in the days that you’ve purchased, and then if you have some extra time, you get, like, you know, one or two more things more done, they would be so incredibly grateful.
Okay, so you want to just think about their experience, what it’s like working with you from start to finish. Should you send maybe a client welcome gift when they first sign on with you? What are your touch points with them, how often are you checking in with them to see how it’s going on whatever they’re working on to get to you so you can do whatever job they hired you for. Just keeping in contact with them and guiding them through the process rather than just like thinking they’re going to figure it out on their own. That helps you. stand out from the crowd and showcases amazing customer service, and those clients are more likely to refer you to keep coming back to you and all the things. All right, so real quick, let me recap the three part formula to help you become a successful virtual assistant. Number one is picking a profitable service that helps businesses grow. Number two is connecting with your ideal client in all of your marketing. And number three is creating a really exceptional client experience.
