All right, today’s episode, we’re gonna be talking about the three Ps you need to know for your new virtual assistant business. Go ahead, grab your notebook and pen because this episode is gonna be juicy. So the first P, P number one is Pray. If it weren’t for turning to prayer, I would not have learned about the virtual assistant world. You guys know I’ve shared my story before, so if you’ve missed it, you can find that episode a while back, I was praying for a solution that would allow me to still provide an income for my family so that we could take our dream vacations, pay off debt, just live the life we wanted to live. But I was tired of teaching and I was pregnant and wanted to be the mom that I knew I could be if I just had the time to do so. And so I prayed to God for a solution, and the day I went to labor, he showed me this virtual assistant world. So turning to prayer is what has brought me down this whole rabbit hole, and it’s been amazing. And if it weren’t for prayer, I also wouldn’t have been able to help all the women who also wanted to work from home with their babies.
(03:40):
If it weren’t for prayer, I would probably still be teaching feeling stuck and unfulfilled. You guys, prayer is the way that we draw closer to God, and it’s through prayer that he can speak to us and show us exactly where he’s calling us to go. So maybe you’re wondering, “Okay, Arianna, I’m not really sure how to pray effectively,” or maybe you’re thinking, “so do I just have to sit there and pray for hours and hours and every dream I have will come true?” No, probably not. But don’t worry, friend, I’m gonna walk you through a few easy steps to start incorporating prayer into your virtual assistant business. So first one is to start a prayer journal. You can buy a really cute little journal off Amazon and then just start praying. And this doesn’t have to take a lot of time. It seriously takes me like five minutes. You can write, you know, a gratitude list in your prayer journal. You can just take five minutes to write whatever’s on your heart. It doesn’t have to be perfect. God knows what is going on in your life already. He just wants you to turn to him and ask for help. So a prayer journal is a great way to do this because then you can really easily go back and see what you prayed before, and whether God has answered it yet or whether you’re still in the waiting phase. Sometimes if we just like pray out loud or in our head, we’ll forget what we prayed about and then won’t really see that God made it happen. So having a prayer journal is a really cool way to kind of see when your prayers have been answered by God. The second way to incorporate prayer into your virtual assistant business is to ask questions of God and to ask him for signs. So if you’re trying to decide between, you know, two different choices or whatever it is, ask God to show you a sign to make sure you’re going the way that he wants you to go. This is one of my favorite things to do – I think I’ve shared this with y’all before, but you know, when I was thinking about writing my book that I’ve been working on, I didn’t know if I should, you know, go. There were two different publishing routes I was trying to decide between. And so I was like, God, show me Caterpillar. If you want me to go one route, show me a lady bug if you want me to go another. And you guys, those creatures, those bugs do not exist like around here. I mean, they do, but like I never see them. So I was like, “Okay, like I’ll really have to, you know, it’ll really jump out at me if I see one of these.” And so literally like two days later, I was walking into our camper. Y’all know we live fulltime in our RV. I was walking into the door and right next to the door handle was a caterpillar. I’ve never in my life, seen a caterpillar in our little camping spot, and I saw a caterpillar that day. So I’m like, “Okay, point taken in God. That is the route I will go.” So ask for signs. This is a great way to kind of show that you’re in the right direction and make sure to remember, like you might not always see that exact thing, like keep an eye out for, you know, you might see whatever you ask for as like your background on your computer. If it like automatically generates images like mine does, your kid might come home with a piece of paper that has that drawn on it or something.
(07:05):
So just keep an eye out. It might not be the actual thing, but like some form of it. All right? And then the third way to incorporate prayer in your life is to practice gratitude. Just take five minutes a day, two minutes even. It doesn’t take that long. And just thank God for all of the amazing things in your life. You guys, he just wants to know that you’re paying attention and that you appreciate all that he’s doing for you. And yeah, so just take a minute to say thank you.
(07:36):
All right. The second P that you need to know for your new virtual assistant business is that you need to prioritize. You’ve gotta prioritize money-making tasks first in your business. You don’t wanna spend 10 million years, you know, making your social media super cute and curated. That’s not gonna make you money. Like, yeah, kind of. It might help you connect with some new clients, but you know it will help more. Go into a Facebook group, see somebody who’s posted a job opportunity apply, that’s more likely to make you money than a Instagram post. So focus on the money making tasks in your business first, and then if you have time later, then you can devote that to things that aren’t necessarily income generators. All right.
(08:25):
The third P that you need to know for your new virtual assistant business is to plan. You need to set aside time each week to make a game plan on what you’re going to tackle. I have a whole entire podcast episode called the Five Time Blocking Tips for the Busy Teacher Turned Work at Home Mom. That’s episode 65 here on the Ditch the Classroom podcast. So you can find that wherever you listen, or you can also go to ditchtheclassroom.com/vault. That’s v-a-u-l-t. And I have all the podcast episodes organized by topic there. So you can easily find episode 65 there. It’s got the links so you can easily click on it and go listen.
(09:05):
All right, let me recap these three P’s for you. The three P’s you need to know when you’re starting your virtual assistant business. Number one is to pray. Number two is prioritize. And number three is to plan. If this podcast is helping you, it would make my heart so, so happy if you take a second to go and leave us a review on the show, wherever you’re listening, but specifically Apple Podcasts, that just really helps us grow and reach new mama’s and teachers who need to hear this message as well.
