(00:07):
Hey friends. Welcome back to the Ditch the Classroom Podcast. On today’s episode, I wanna talk to you about three reasons that becoming a virtual assistant will allow you to quit teaching for good. I think a lot of times we’re like, “what is virtual assistance going to actually allow me to do?” So I just wanna break that down for y’all. So let’s just go ahead and dive right in. Number one is that virtual assistance can provide you a stable income so that you don’t have any fear about leaving teaching. This is one of the biggest fears I hear from people who are considering ditching the classroom is that they’re worried about not having a stable income that a nine-to-five will provide.
(01:52):
I actually think virtual assistance is more stable because when you have a handful of clients, if you lose one, you still have the income from the others to support you as you look for replacement for the one you lost. Whereas with teaching, if you lost your job tomorrow, you’re just down to zero income. Okay? So I actually think virtual assistance is more stable. When you’re considering what services you wanna offer. As a virtual assistant, you might wanna consider services that the same handful of clients will need each and every month. So for example, I chose to specialize in website design. I’m not gonna have the same client need a new website every single month, so I have to consistently go out and find new clients, which is fine. That’s what I love to do. So that’s just kind of a caveat of that. But if you’re really worried about having that stable income, you need to pick a service that is ongoing for the same clients month-to-month-to-month. So that might be like social media management, administrative services, podcast management. There are so many services that you can do for just, you know, five clients every single month, and then that will give you that stable income you’re looking for.
(03:02):
The second reason why becoming a virtual assistant will allow you to quit teaching for good is that it allows you to work around your life schedule. We are busy moms, busy teachers, busy women, busy wives, just busy. And so we need a job that’s going to work around the lives we want and the lives of those in our family. It can be really hard when our kids get sick and we don’t have any more vacation days to take, and we just have to go negative and get written up at work. But with virtual assistance, if your kid gets sick, you just rearrange your schedule to what works best for you. Maybe you need to work like, two hours one evening to catch up after your kids go to bed, but that’s totally doable, okay? So it allows you to just work your virtual assistant business around your life schedule instead of your life having to work around your job.
(04:01):
The third reason that becoming a virtual assistant will allow you to quit teaching for good is that it gives you the ability to increase your income. As teachers, we know we’re stuck with whatever income the state or whoever decides we get, but as a virtual assistant, you can raise your prices anytime you want. You can offer more profitable services if there’s something that lights you up that you wanna do, you get to pick what your income is as a virtual assistant, and that is a beautiful, beautiful thing.
(04:33):
Okay, so real quick, let me recap these three reasons. Becoming a virtual assistant will allow you to quit teaching for good. Number one is it provides a stable income. Number two, it allows you to work around your life schedule. And number three, it has the ability to increase your income.
