Hey y’all, welcome back to the virtual assistant mama podcast. In this episode, I’m going to teach you how you can make more income as a virtual assistant. I know a lot of you are always, you know, wanting to make more money to be able to live the life that you want to live. And so I’m just going to break down three simple strategies to help you make more income. Number one, I’m sure y’all could guess this, is to raise your prices. I find so many people, especially moms, women in general, are underpricing their services as a virtual assistant. If you’ve been offering your services for any amount of time, if you’ve done it for one client, five clients, ten clients, even if you’ve only done it for one, you can raise your prices for the next client. There is nobody telling you when you can raise those prices, you get to decide. And so if you’re not making the income that you wanna make, it’s time to bump up those prices, whether it’s by $5 an hour, $10 an hour, or more. I always recommend starting out at 25 to $30 an hour, but every time you get a new client, you can bump that up by like $5 an hour or so. Okay, so if you have not raised your prices in the last I’d say three months or more It’s probably time to do so. You might still have to do the work for your current client at the same price for a few more months. Usually around the six month mark of working with a client, if things are going well, then you can pitch to them that you are raising your prices.
And then if they decide to let you go, that’s okay, because you can replace them with a client who you’re doing the same amount of work for, but that’s paying you more. Okay, so number one, first strategy to make more income as a virtual assistant is to raise those prices. All right. The second strategy to make more income as a virtual assistant is to offer package pricing. I’ve talked about this on the podcast before, but instead of charging hourly and having to track your time for the tasks you’re doing and then having to bill for more hours, when you. Create packages for your services. You’re still estimating how long a service is going to take you, but then you’re adding a dollar amount on top of that estimation. For being skilled in that service. So if you’ve taken like courses for the services you offer If you’ve done any sort of like training even if it’s Youtube university If you’ve worked with a couple clients and you know what works and what doesn’t work as far as the service you offer Then you can offer that more premium Pricing in your packages and add in that amount for being experienced So again, you still calculate how long a task is going to take you You guesstimate it you add a little bit on top in case it takes you a little longer You add in a little bit more for like your taxes And then you add on that premium Amount for being skilled in that service. I do break this down in different episodes as far as package pricing You So if you need more help with that, I don’t know off the top of my head what episode it’s, but you can just scroll through and look at the titles and it should Jump out at you that it’s about package pricing All right. The third strategy to make more income as a virtual assistant is to offer a premium service So there are some services that businesses want because it’s going to help them grow their business I talked about that in the last episode when you’re picking a service you want to think about this If you haven’t thought about this yet, you might need to pivot if you’re not already offering a premium service But a premium service is just something that businesses will hire you for to help them expand their business.
So to reach more people. So social media management is a great example. Website designers help our premium service because they help a business reach more people through connections through their website. Back in episode 246, I broke down three virtual assistant services that are in high demand. So, that’s a really good episode to go back and listen to, but really, if you think about any service that helps businesses reach more potential customers, that’s a great service to offer. And then if you offer that service, again, they’re in high demand, so businesses are more likely to hire you versus services that they don’t need as often, and you’re going to be able to make more income. in that way. So let me recap for you the three strategies to make more income as a virtual assistant. Number one, obviously raise your prices. Number two is to offer package pricing and number three is to choose a premium service. All right, y’all. I hope this episode was helpful for you.
