[00:00:00] Are you wondering how to attract new clients when you are a brand new virtual assistant? Even if you’re not brand new, maybe you just need a couple tips to help refresh you on finding that next dream client. So in today’s episode, I’m going to share. three tips to help you attract new clients as a virtual assistant.
[00:00:22] Tip number one is to showcase your skills. So as a new virtual assistant, it is really essential to showcase your skills and expertise to your potential clients. So I recommend doing this by creating a portfolio that will highlight your services. You want to be really clear in your portfolio about the services that you offer and how they can benefit your clients. I’m not going to go super in-depth on the components of the portfolio today, but I do have an episode that does go in depth on that. If you want to check it out, that is episode 69, The Top Five Most Essential Components for Creating Your Portfolio as a New Virtual Assistant. So you can go find that episode if you need help with that. This isn’t actually one of the three tips I have for you today, but it’s a little bit of a bonus tip. I do want you to consider specializing in a specific niche or industry. Because when you focus on a niche, you can position yourself as an expert in that area and attract clients who are looking for that specialized assistant. So whether it’s social media management, content creation, administrative support, website design, defining your niche is going to make you seem more appealing to potential clients that need help in one specific area rather than like a huge range.
[00:01:45] Alright, tip number two is to network. Networking is such a powerful tool, and it’s one that a lot of virtual assistants do not use, especially those who are just starting. They think the clients are just going to come to them, and that’s unfortunately just not the case. So, it’s really helpful if you go and join online Facebook groups, and just go network on Instagram. Go figure out where your dream clients are hanging out, and go to where they’re hanging out. So if you want to be a TikTok manager, you should probably be looking for your clients on TikTok because you know they’re on there, you know, they probably need help, they’re probably not doing something so great and you would be able to network with them, engage with them for valuable insight, demonstrate your expertise with the goal of them, hopefully scheduling a call with you and hiring you. So networking is going to help you build those connections, gain referrals, and potentially land new clients. I don’t want you to underestimate the power of networking. If you just take, you know, 10, 15 minutes a day to go and share valuable content related to your niche, engage with potential clients, help them by answering a quick question, this is going to build that know, like, and trust factor that makes them much more likely to hire you.
[00:03:14] Number three for attracting new clients to you is that you can offer a limited time promotion or like a special deal. So as a new virtual assistant, by offering a limited time promotion, you can definitely attract new clients through this method. So just consider providing a discounted rate a lot, maybe like 10 percent for your services. And that will incentivize potential clients to give you a try. So you can just have it for a short amount of time. Maybe the first month of them working with you is going to be 10 percent off. Have that deal expire, you know, a week from now. And that just really encourages them to hop on a call with you. See if you would be a good fit. And hopefully hire you. So this is a really great way to help you build your client base and gain those testimonials and referrals. You can also consider offering a free consultation, which is typically like a discovery call. You just kind of take a look at what they’ve got going on, tell them where things could be improved. You could also even do something like a trial period for your services, but I wouldn’t do this for very long. I would maybe only do like, three days. That would just allow potential clients to experience the value that you provide without committing to a long term contract right away. They see that you know what you’re doing, that you can work together with them effectively, and then they’re more likely to go from trial to long term client.
[00:04:44] All right, so I hope these tips were helpful. Let me just recap those. Number one, to help you land new clients as a virtual assistant, you want to make sure you’re showcasing your skills.. Tip number two is to network your little heart out. And tip number three is you can offer a limited time promotion or like a special deal for your services. Now, maybe you’re already working as a virtual assistant, but you’re trying to figure things out on your own. Or maybe you haven’t even started because you don’t know what to do.
