[00:00:00] Do you struggle with staying organized in a virtual assistant business? In today’s episode, I want to cover four simple ways that you can stay a little bit more organized. So you don’t get overwhelmed. So you don’t miss things. And so you can streamline your virtual assistant business, saving you time, saving you money, saving your energy, making your clients happy, all of the things. So let’s just go ahead and jump right in, grab a piece of paper and a pen. Because I know this is going to help you.
[00:00:30] The first tip I have for you to stay organized in your virtual assistant business is to make sure you are time blocking. It’s really important that each week you have a planner where you are blocking out your different time blocks and figuring out when you are working? When are you going to the gym? When are you focusing on your kids? All the different areas of your life. Yes, some may overlap. But when you get it all out of your head, it really helps you zone in and focus on what you’re supposed to be doing in that time, rather than trying to juggle all the 10 million different things and never being great with the one thing you’re focusing on. So make sure you’re time blocking using a planner. I highly recommend the Horacio Planner. That’s H O R A C I O. It’s a faith based planner. It’s amazing. I’ve used it now for, I think, Three years, at least two, but I’m pretty sure three. That’s really awesome. Just go type in Google “Horatio planner” and you’ll find it.
[00:01:32] The next tip to stay organized in your virtual assistant business is to make sure you’re setting up workflows for yourself. Now I go really in depth in episode 233 on how to set up a workflow. So if you want to check that out, go find that episode. But, workflows basically allow you to batch similar tasks together so that you can stay in one zone in your brain and you’re not spending or wasting a lot of time trying to switch between unrelated tasks. If you can batch similar tasks together, that allows you to stay in that zone, be more focused and waste a lot less time. The third tip I have to help you stay organized in your virtual assistant business is to implement some sort of operating system. Now, I personally really love Trello, T R E L L O, and that is where I have my workflows. So every day when I sit down to work, I go into my Trello board and I see exactly what I need to be working on. Now, I reset this at the end of every week so that on Monday when I sit down to work again, it’s already laid out exactly what I need to do and a lot of it is automated like tasks that I have to repeat in my business every month or every week or every day that’s automated. It’s already in there and I just change the date on it. Again, this is part of setting up your workflows, so go check out episode 233 to get that set up. But I highly recommend having those workflows in an operating system so that you can make sure you’re not missing any important tasks or overlooking something.
[00:03:13] Now, if you are a virtual assistant who’s just starting out, or if you’re not a virtual assistant yet, but you would love to learn, I have a five day series coming up here on the podcast just for you. Coming up on November 13th through the 17th, I’m going to be walking you through the five steps to becoming a virtual assistant. So every day that week, November 13th through 17th, we will have an episode walking you through exactly what you need to do to start your virtual assistant journey. And, during that week, I will also be having a flash sale on the Virtual Assistant Mama Academy. This is everything you need to take your virtual assistant business from zero to 60 and we are going to have it at such a discounted price. So I wanted to give you a little bit of a heads up so you can start having a discussion with your husband. Get your plans in place. They all have the money ready. It is an investment, but I swear it is so, so worth it. So I’ll be talking more in depth about what the investment is, what the discount is, all the things during that workshop.
[00:04:19] But even if you just do the five day workshop series here on the podcast, that’s going to help you so much as well. So again, that’s November 13th through the 17th, The Five Steps to Becoming a Virtual Assistant. Can’t wait to see you there. And as always, we will see you in the next episode.
