Episode 336: Balancing Your Business and Family as a Virtual Assistant
In this episode of the Virtual Assistant Mama podcast, I’m sharing how to balance your business and family life as a Virtual Assistant.
One of the biggest reasons that I see people quit trying to become a Virtual Assistant is because they’re struggling with imposter syndrome. They don’t believe that they can do it, and they don’t have any tools to help them on the bad days.
That’s why, in today’s quick tip Thursday episode on the Ditch the Classroom podcast, I’m sharing my top 5 books that will help you improve your mindset as you quit teaching to become a Virtual Assistant.

(00:07):
Hey sister, friends. Welcome back to the Ditch the Classroom podcast. On this episode, I’m gonna be walking you all through five books to help you as you quit teaching and pursue God’s purpose for you. One of the biggest things that holds people back from pursuing this dream of becoming a virtual assistant is imposter syndrome. Not having the confidence, not believing in yourself. So these five books are going to be amazing for just believing that this is possible for you.
(01:44):
So number one is Believe Bigger by Marshawn Evans Daniels. You guys I’ve literally never taken so many notes or put so many sticky notes in a book in my life. This is my number one favorite book of all time. It’s one that I’m gonna read every single year. It’s seriously so freaking good. It’s all about figuring out your purpose as you shift into a new identity that God has placed on your life. So, so, so freaking good. Go buy it.
(02:17):
Now, the second book is You Are a Badass At Making Money by Jen Sincero. This is one that I read pretty much right after I started my VA business. And it really helps you rework your belief about what money means and how much of it you deserve. And I love the way that Jen writes. She uses a lot of humor and it’s just a really fun, easy read, but very, very powerful.
(02:44):
The third one is the God Dare by Kate Battistelli. I’m probably gonna mess this up, Battistelli? And she really encourages you to discover how God has specifically designed you and pushes you to chase those dreams.
(02:59):
Next one that I just read not too long ago, called Own Your Everyday by Jordan Dooley. This one was so good. Y’all it’s gonna help you overcome the pressure to prove yourself and also help you not to worry about what others will think of you. And she really helps you break out of the box of expectations and identity and just eliminate excuses and unnecessary stress about an unknown future. So it was super powerful. I loved it. It was a really easy read again.
(03:32):
And then the last one I had for y’all is You Are the Girl for the Job by Jess Connolly. And it’s all about believing God’s call that has been placed on your heart and acting in obedience to follow him. So y’all probably see a common theme in all of these, but again, you need to build that confidence and that belief in yourself and in God that he’s placed this dream on your heart for a reason. So go check these out. I highly recommend all of them. They’re amazing. And yeah, that’s really all I have for y’all.
