It is so important to pray as you work towards your dream to quit teaching, and as Christian women, we should be doing this regularly. But maybe if you’re anything like I was a while ago, maybe you’re just not quite sure exactly what to pray about. I know how this feels, but I also know how important it’s been for me to put God first in my business. When I finally let go of control and made him the CEO, I found myself filled with peace and momentum that I could not have anticipated. So in today’s episode, I’m gonna share with y’all six things to pray for as you quit teaching and pursue your God-given purpose outside of the classroom.
(01:58):
Number one, when you pray for your business, seek to maintain God-centered success. If you’re anything like me, I know you have on your heart to make an impact and an income, but as women of faith, it’s also important to keep God front and center. We have to pray to keep him at the focus so that everything that you do in your business is with him and for him. Okay?
(02:24):
The second way that you can pray for your business is to pray for help to set and keep boundaries in your business. Now, there are two different types of boundaries that you can pray over. The first is boundaries between you and others. So for example, any client work, your availability, how much you serve, et cetera, and then boundaries with yourself. So this would be, for example, limiting the hours you work, boundaries around your family time so you can be really intentional with your business, and that’s not leaking into your family life. You have to pray for boundaries that are healthy and that will bring you joy in every area of your life.
(03:10):
The third way that we can be praying for our journey out of teaching is to pray for joy in the journey. We are exactly where God wants us to be at every moment. So just ask him to bring you joy in each step, in each season of that journey. When you pray to him, ask him to help you find fulfillment at the moment and have peace with where you are right now when you’re walking the path that God has laid out for you. He usually only gives us the one next step, not the entire journey. He just wants you to take that next step of faith and have that faith that he’s gonna have. Your back every single day should be about you fulfilling the purpose that he has for your life. So don’t get stressed in the “how is this gonna work” and all of that. Just take that step of faith and trust in him.
(04:05):
The fourth way that you can pray for your journey as you quit teaching is to ask for discernment over opportunities versus distractions. You can pray to God for clarity and ask him to help you figure out what is a godsend opportunity versus a worldly distraction. Sometimes these can look and feel the same, and you may need God’s help to discern which thing is from him and which has been sent to keep us from our true calling. A great time to pray for your business is before making a decision. Stop and pause to seek God’s guidance at that moment. I always pray for God to strengthen my discernment so that I can be aware of what opportunities he has laid out for me in which he wants me to avoid. So this is a great way to pray for your journey out of teaching. All right. The next one is to pray for your current and future clients. You should really always be keeping your clients in mind when you pray for your business, ask God to be preparing their hearts and to bring the right people to you for you to serve. You wanna be serving businesses that are furthering God’s mission, and so ask him to bring you those clients. Pray for them to be blessed and to have success and for their hearts to be open to receive what it is that you’ve prepared for them.
(05:31):
All right? And then the sixth and final way that you can pray for your journey out of teaching. And as you start your new business or whatever it is, you’re going into pray to glorify God in all that you do. Pray that God is glorified in every meeting, every client work piece of content, You name it, and pray for Holy Spirit to shine through you and to use you as a light pointing towards God. You guys, if you pray regularly, God will guide you on your path. So I want you to use these six areas of prayer to get you started in this habit, and as you go, he will strengthen you in both your life and your journey out of teaching. All right, so I pray that this episode blessed you real quick.
(06:21):
Let me recap these six ways that you can pray for your journey as you quit teaching. Number one is to pray, to seek God-centered success. Number two is to pray around boundaries in your business. Number three is to pray for joy in the journey. Number four is to ask for discernment over opportunities versus distractions. Number five is to pray for your current and future clients. And then number six is to glorify God in all that you do.
