Are you ready to quit teaching, but you’re not really sure if it’s really time. Maybe you’re just feeling burnt out and you just dream of being home with your babies, but you’re not sure if you really have your ducks in a row, or you’re just scared to take that first step into becoming a virtual assistant. I know, I know how you feel and that’s why today I’m sharing five rules of thumb to know if you’re ready to quit teaching for good and start working from home as a virtual assistant. So you can spend more time with your babies, pay off that debt and just live the life you’ve always dreamed of. All right. So we’re just gonna jump right in. I don’t have a prelude for you. We’re just gonna dive in.

(01:38):
So the first rule of thumb to know if you’re ready to quit teaching and become a virtual, is that you truly feel called here. You’ve prayed about it. And he has said “yes”. Now I think I’ve said this before, but you’re, you’re not gonna know every step of the plan. It’s not gonna all be laid out for you. God wants us to have faith and trust in him. So just take that first step and then he will make clear the next one. Also, even in the waiting, if God hasn’t like very, very clearly said yes to you yet. First of all, you could have maybe just missed it if you weren’t paying attention. So keep praying, and just start taking those steps anyway. And if this door is not meant for you, he’s gonna shut it. Okay? So just take those steps. God wants us to trust in him. Trust that this dream on your heart is there for a reason, take those steps and he’s gonna lead you in the direction he wants you to go.

(02:48):
Okay. Second rule of thumb to know if you’re ready is that you have a bit of a nest egg saved up, so it can take around two months for you to land your first virtual assistant client. ‘Cause typically that first month is spent getting your business set up and just learning the world of virtual assistance. And then the second month is where you really start networking and applying for jobs. And so you do wanna have a bit of a nest egg saved up. And if you’re still teaching, then that’s helpful. You can just work this as a side hustle until you get it to the point that you are comfortable quitting.

(03:31):
Number three, third rule of thumb to know if you’re ready to become a virtual assistant is that you truly want your own business. You don’t want a boss. You don’t wanna be in a direct sales company where you have no say on what products are introduced or how much commission you make. As a virtual assistant. You get to determine who you work with when you work, what services you offer and how much you get it paid. So if that freedom sounds like your cup of tea, then virtual assistance is your best bet. Okay?

(04:10):
Number four, you have a support system to help you stay on track. Being your own boss, you really need to have somebody there to push you. When you’re scared, you need to have somebody there to help talk you out of your imposter syndrome, which is so common. We all deal with it, but we have to overcome it. So you need a support system backing you up. It can be your spouse. It can be really close friends. It can be your parents. If you join in my program, then you get that support there to really push you and to do this because I know it’s your dream and yes, it’s scary, but you can do it.

(04:54):
All right. Number four, you have the tools to help you overcome imposter syndrome. So not only do you need a support system, but you also need things like positive affirmations, Bible time. Maybe you can create like a testimonial folder where when somebody comments or says something that really lights you up, you can take a screenshot of it and put it in a folder on your phone. I do that all the time. And then when I’m feeling like, who am I to do this? I go look at those and I’m reminded, “oh yeah, I’m helping people” So that’s a really good idea to do too. I highly recommend definitely implementing the positive affirmations and time in your Bible each day, those are really easy to do. Positive affirmations. You can just write a sentence that is not too hard for you to believe. You don’t wanna write some, something that you’re just gonna roll your eyes at and be like, “yeah, whatever”. You wanna write something that you truly think you’re becoming or you truly believe can happen.

(05:56):
So things like “my clients feel supported by me”. Things like, “God is helping me to pay off my debt so I can pour more into his mission, things of that nature.” Okay? Alright. So you’re gonna make a whole list of your positive affirmations. I want you to spend at least 10 to 15 minutes in the Bible each day. And then if you want, you can start creating a testimonial folder. That’s gonna help you when you’re just really struggling with, “who am I to do this?”

(06:38):
So to recap, five rules of thumb know if you’re ready to become a virtual assistant, you truly feel called here. You’ve prayed about it. You have a bit of a nest egg saved up because it might take a little bit of time to land that first client. You truly want to be your own boss. You don’t want someone telling you what you have to do every single day. You have a support system to help you stay track and you have tools to help you overcome the imposter syndrome. If you said “yes” to all of these, great! If not, that’s okay. You can start working on setting these up and either way you can get help with these in the Teacher Turned Freelancer Academy. So in TTFA, I’m giving you tools for overcoming your imposter syndrome. I’m helping you with effective time management skills so that you can really juggle it all and start building your virtual assistant business. It’s also gonna give you that accountability and support that you need to take those next steps. We’re not gonna leave you behind.

(07:49):
We’re gonna keep pushing you to take that next step in your business. And it’s gonna walk you through everything you need to know step by step. So you’re not wondering, “okay, what the heck do I do next?” It really gives you the whole entire map. Okay? So if this sounds like your cup of tea, you’re ready.
