(00:07):
Hello, and welcome back to another episode of Quick Tip Thursday on the Ditch the Classroom podcast. Before we jump into today’s question, I wanna invite you to our five day series we have coming up in a little over one week where I’m gonna be teaching you how to become a virtual assistant. So every day, starting June 20th through June 25th, I’m gonna have a quick episode here on the show for you that will give you a tip for starting your virtual assistant business so that you can quit teaching and become a virtual assistant and start working from home. So make sure you join us for that. And then today’s question that I have is, “what computer skills do I need to know in order to become a virtual assistant right off the bat?” I wanna let you know that you do not need to have a ton of skills to become a VA.
(01:39):
You don’t need to know how to use a ton of different programs. You don’t need a whole bunch of different skills. Like you don’t need to go get a bunch of certifications or take a bunch of courses. You don’t need a degree. None of that. You just have to be willing to figure things out as you go. Clients value that willingness to learn over you having all of the skills already. You know, maybe they’re outsourcing something that they’ve already done in their business, so they know how to do. And maybe they’re willing to give you a quick tutorial video on how to do it, and then you just implement it. So you don’t need to know all of these things beforehand. You just need to have that willingness to learn, but some basic skills that you do need to be a good virtual is good with email and messenger communication for communicating with clients, you should know how to send invoices and contracts, which is really easy.
(02:35):
You can look up tutorials and I can also teach you that in Teacher Turned Freelancer Academy. And then maybe an understanding of social media. So you can go and find your potential clients. So just how to go and network with people on social media so that you can land those clients to help you replace your teaching income. Okay? So like I said, these are quick tips. Doesn’t take very long, but again, you do not need to know a ton of different programs or whatever, to become a virtual assistant. You don’t need a bunch of different computer skills. You just need to have that willingness to learn. All right. Y’all if this show has been helping you, I would love it if you would come and leave a review, that’s what helps us grow. And I would be so incredibly grateful. And if you have a Quick Tip Thursday question, you’d like me to answer, come into our Facebook group, drop it on the quick tip Thursday post.
