[00:00:00] Arianna Vernier: Hey, Hey friends, welcome back to the Virtual Assistant Mama Podcast and happy December. Can you even believe that 2023 is almost over? We’re in the last month things are hopefully slowing down in some aspects but probably picking up in others. Lots of family to visit, fun Christmas-y things to do. But we’re just gonna start gearing up for an exciting new year and that usually means new goals and just big dreams. So today’s episode is all about following God’s plan for your life and going after the dreams that he’s given you. Before we dive into that topic, I do want to read a review that kind of ties in, so let me just go ahead and read it to y’all.
[00:00:45] Arianna Vernier: “I stumbled across your podcast while searching on how to start as a virtual assistant. I love how you use scripture because it really resonates with me. I felt a calling to be at home, but I’m terrified to get out of my comfort zone and leave my 9 – 5. I’m ready to learn and create my own freedom. It is definitely time to listen to God’s calling.”
[00:01:05] Arianna Vernier: Y’all, these reviews on the podcast, not only do they just light my fire and make me so excited to record these episodes for you. They are the number one way that you can help me with growing this show. When you review the podcast, it basically tells Apple or Spotify or wherever you’re reviewing that this podcast is worth showing to more people.
[00:01:29] Arianna Vernier: It just takes you a couple of minutes. You just go to either Apple podcast or Spotify, scroll down to the leave review section click the five stars. Write a couple sentences and hit submit. But before you hit that submit button, if you go ahead and take a screenshot of that and send that screenshot to podcast@virtualassistantmama.com, you’re gonna go ahead and get a free gift from me. I have the Virtual Assistant Toolkit which is really going to help you take those foundational steps into becoming a virtual assistant. And when you leave a review on the podcast, that’s just my thank you, is giving you the Virtual Assistant Toolkit for free. So, make sure you do that, get your free goodies, and I just appreciate it so, so much. So in that review, she was talking about how she’s been hearing God’s nudge and calling to leave her nine to five, but she’s just a little bit nervous about taking that step. And I think we can all kind of resonate with that. I know that I feel this all the time. I definitely felt it when I was leaving teaching and starting my virtual assistant business. It’s really easy to stress over whether you’re on the right path, whether you’re really going down the road that God has for you. And I just want to talk to you guys today about a concept that I heard from Leslie Burris on her Peace on Purpose podcast.
[00:02:56] Arianna Vernier: And that’s the concept of bowling with bumpers. When you have faith and trust in God, it’s like you’re bowling with your kiddos and you’ve got those little bumpers up on the side of the alley. When you throw that ball down the lane, it can’t go off in the gutters. And miss the pins entirely if the bumpers are up. With the bumpers up… Even if it starts veering off course, the bumper is going to bump it back into position. And that’s what it’s like when you are a follower of Christ and just really trust in Him and keep taking the next right step or the next step that you think is right. Just taking that leap of faith, even if you start to veer a little off track, God’s going to bump you in the right direction as long as you are asking him for guidance and considering him when you make decisions. We don’t need to sit in fear all the time, afraid to make the wrong choice, because God’s got our back. Like, yeah, we’re going to make the wrong choice sometimes, and we might have to bump back a little bit. But God’s going to get us where He wants us to go in His own time. I just wanted to read you guys the verse, Proverbs 16:9. It says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” So as Christians, we can make plans to work towards the dreams that God’s placed on our heart and we can, you know, take that step of faith, but God’s going to give us the next step and the next step. And even when we’re not fully sure, again, consider God, ask Him, and He will redirect you. So I just wanted to record this short episode to you guys today to just encourage you, take that bold step of faith, don’t keep hesitating, worrying that you’re going to take the wrong step because God’s got your back, He’s going to get you where He wants for you. All right, y’all. I love you so, so much. Again, I would greatly appreciate it if you go and leave that review. And again, I’ll send you that free gift as a thank you when you do so. I love y’all so much and we will see you in the next episode.
