In this episode of the Virtual Assistant Mama podcast, I’m sharing how to balance your business and family life as a Virtual Assistant.
Are you feeling this tug to quit teaching but you’re terrified to take the first steps?
Sometimes we know we are called, yet we are too busy, afraid, distracted, or even too self-conscious to answer…
We wonder if we’re hearing God right, if He is really choosing us. We wonder if now is the right time or if we should wait just a little longer… you know, til’ things settle down. Or, we think we are too busy… and we continue to delay obedience.
Delayed obedience is still disobedience. When we don’t take immediate action on God’s calling, we’re missing out on his blessings and protections.
In today’s episode of the Ditch the Classroom podcast, I’m sharing 4 God-Given truths to help you understand that He is calling you and that it’s more than okay to accept His calling.

Are you feeling a tug to quit teaching, but you are terrified to take the first steps? Sometimes we know we’re called yet. We’re too busy. We’re too afraid. We’re too distracted. Or even too self-conscious to answer that call. We wonder if we’re hearing God, right. If he’s really choosing us. We wonder if now is the right time. Or if we should wait just a little bit longer, you know, ’till things settle down, like they ever do that. Or we think we’re too busy and we continue to delay obedience. Spoiler alert, delayed obedience is still disobedience. When we don’t take immediate action on God’s calling we’re missing out on his blessings and protections.
(02:07):
So in today’s episode here on the Ditch the Classroom podcast, I’m gonna be sharing with you four God-given truths to help you understand that he is calling you. And that is more than okay to accept his calling.
(02:22):
So, number one, God is calling you to do something. You are called by him to do something. If you’re no longer feeling called to be a teacher, then that means you have a purpose elsewhere. We are not born purposeless. And there is a reason that we are all here. Sometimes our call from God feels uncomfortable. The timing feels off, or it feels inconvenient, but this is just how obedience is tested. As God’s chosen people, we need to make sure that our priorities are in check and that we have a willing spirit to follow him. You guys, the hardest part of following God’s calling for you is just taking that first step. Every step gets easier.
(03:11):
All right, the second God-given truth, you are to take immediate action on whatever God is calling you to do. Instead of waiting on the right time or a booming clear “go” from God or continuing to delay answering the call. We are directed in scripture to take immediate action. When God asked Simon Peter to join him as a Fisher of men, he didn’t just hang out and be like, okay, I’ll meet you in a month or so. No, he immediately got out of his fishing boat and began to follow Christ. He didn’t know the outcome. He didn’t know how. All he knew was that God told him to come. So I want y’all to be like Simon Peter, put aside your excuses and follow God’s lead so that you can work faithfully to glorify him instead of yourself.
(04:04):
The third God-given truth. You will experience God’s blessing and future blessings. You guys, your immediate action will bring favor, blessing, and most importantly, closeness to God. He promises that his chosen children will be blessed and their children and their children’s children. Walking in obedience and answering God’s calling will reap so many rewards and change the path of your life.
(04:34):
The fourth God-given truth is that you are promised protection. When you are faithfully serving God, you’re gonna face challenges. It’s going to happen. We’ve got an enemy fighting us every step of the way, but you’re gonna be different than most people in the world. And they might not like it. However, God promises to protect his chosen ones and to honor them. Okay? So I just want you to understand these four God-given truths, because if you’re feeling that push from God to, to quit teaching and pursue your purpose elsewhere, then it’s crucial that you listen. Do you want God to tap you with a feather and say, “Hey, you should do this.” Or do you wanna keep waiting until he hits you with a piano? Which one is it gonna be?
(05:27):
You guys, I just pray that you open your heart to answer God’s call. And I just want you to know that he is with you, encouraging you, blessing you and protecting you on your journey. Walking out God’s plan for you will seriously be the greatest honor of your life. Okay? I pray this episode, blesses you. I pray it gives you the push that you need to really pursue your purpose outside of teaching. And I would love to support you in this journey. So feel free to reach out to me and I would love to connect. All right. Y’all I love you so incredibly much, and we will see you next time.
